Summary: People Please hear me and sony out there awesome! 2008-12-02
Comment: i have tried so many in ear earphones shure, bose, vmoda, denon, other sonys, skull candy, koss. and I to like another reviewer have been buying all these trying them and then, returning them. I just recently said f it. i'll buy the shure 110 series and try them, man I don't know where Shure gets off charging so much for a less superior product. no bass whats so ever, and then i returned them and saw these at best buy and said, f it let me try them if i don't like them i can return them. Well when i opened the package i was a little turned off by the u shape cord (i Hate that) but after inserting these and listening to them i didn't mind the u cord so much these sound absolutely incredible. I listen to a whole range of music and these sound awesome for everything, they have great but not overpowering highs and awesome even booming bass, and they stay in your ear no matter what your doing. I do wish they were a little less pertrusive out the ear but besides that i 100% recommend who ever is reading this and wondering about these to get them you will not be dissapointed they are awesome!

Summary: Nice Clear Sound 2008-10-21
Comment: First i purchased MDREX85LP i thougt it was an ear canal headphone. But when i started to use it i realized that it is not as well as a noise canceling headphone as the other SONY headphones(EX51LP).So if you are always travelling and want to isolate yourself from outside sounds in a plane, bus or train this may not be what you are looking for.
I bought this beacuse it has a 12MM driver unit while most of the other headphones have standart 9MM.The sound quailty is amazing, very clear and direct and powerfull sounds.
In my opinion EX85LP is more healtier for your ears because it is not designed to fit inside your ear canal just the entreance of your it so if you listen music oftenly, this is more safer and friendlier for your ears regard to the future.

Summary: Great earbud for the price 2008-09-24
Comment: Got these earbuds for about $42. They really sound great, I've had a a pair of the sony MDREX71's for many years that work good as well. These seam to fit and sound just a bit better. Can't beat them for the price.

Summary: Good, not great! 2008-09-18
Comment: These are good looking earphones, well constructed and, phisically, well disigned. they come with a very nice carrying case that protects them well. About the sound they provide a good experience but a little weak with the low frecuencies. They are a good but not great, the MDR Ex71LP that I used to have sounded way better

Summary: Excellent replacement headphones 2008-09-18
Comment: The headphones that came with my 4GB NWZ-A816BLK quit working due to human error (never pull on the cord). I contacted Sony at the time and they did not offer the same headphones (MDR-EX082)for sale, so I bought a pair of cheaper Sony headphones. As soon as the new MDR-EX85LP set came out, I immediately bought them. The music is balanced and the base is just right for my old ears (I'm 39). I didn't realize how great this line of Sony earphones were until I put them in my ears.
