Summary: fully adequate, recommendable++ for its price 2008-11-14
Comment: After owning more than 10 earbuds, including Sennheiser, Denon I realize that it is not worth spending to yet go through another rather disapointing/costly listening experimence. While the expensive earbuds ($69-199) yield clear sound in the mid-high level, w/ moderate or limited clean bass, one would wonder if such limited reward would be the final answer to our prayers. With a earphones like the Sound-squared Elite, bass is clear, very adequate, even in the deep end with no drowning of the hi's or the mid's, as though the whole spectrum is present, pleasantly so. "Elite" might not be hi-quality build, but it can render your long listening experience highly acceptable, to the point that would make u a smart buyer. If you are a very demanding audiophile, skip this since it is made w/ more or less cheap material. But for Ipod lovers on the go, this is it; go no further: clarity of hi's + deep bass, no muddying. Don't spend more than you should. My second choice would be a EX75 by Sony by virtue of its dynamics & constant bass response (i.e. not very clean for purist-audiophile),next come the CX500 by Sennheiser.

Summary: Great Sounding Earphones! 2008-10-01
Comment: I wanted to try some "earbud" style earphones to replace my Ipod earphones and I think I made a great choice in buying these. First, the sound is excellent - well balanced with excellent fidelity, loads better than my Ipod earphones. They deliver great bass and the mids and highs are distinct; you'll hear every instrument being played.
Second, they seem to be made very well. The earpiece is made out of aluminum as described in the ad. I didn't think much of that until I received them and I don't know if it influences how they sound, but the colorization of the two shades of black (jet black and more like dark charcoal black really) combined with the natural color of aluminum is very sharp looking. The cord, plug, and connector are as good of quality as I've seen on a pair of earphones.
They come with three sizes of ear pieces which is nice because I have small ears. I used the smallest pair and find they fit very comfortably without falling out.
Overall, these are the best earphones I've ever tried. I bought them for the price and the style, figuring the sound would probably be ok for the money. What I've determined is the sound is fantastic for the money and they look great too. You won't be disappointed with these and I would certainly buy them again, even as a gift. That's how nice they are!
