The Targus headphones met my needs. Although the sound was not as good as a good pair of regular headphones, the noise cancellation feature more than made up for this deficiency. It really cut out the low frequency noise and my music sounded much better. These headphones appear to be the identical ones that Brookstone sells ... Although I can't be sure, the only difference appears to be the nameplate. I like the way the headphones fold up for storage. I would definately recommend these to anyone that flies and enjoys listening to music without the noise. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Targus PA605U Noise Reduction Headphones (Electronics) When I saw the Targus headphones on sale I couldn't help but buy a set to see how it sounded. I used Boise's ComfortQuiet before, and the Targus's noise canceling function works surprisingly well. The headset is also comfortable and folds easily for storage and transport. But the sound quality is, at best, mediocre, with insufficient bass and sounding rather flat compared to cheaper earphones from Aiwa or Koss. If you find it at a bargain-basement price you may want to get it for the next flight, otherwise it just ain't worth fifty bucks. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Robert L. Ripperdan (Kingston, TN United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Targus PA605U Noise Reduction Headphones (Electronics) I purchased these at CompUSA to help block the ambient noise during frequent air travel over the past year. The noise-cancelling feature works surprisingly well, but the overall sound quality is inferior to several other brands of non noise-cancelling headphones I've had in the past. They are especially poor at handling solid, deep bass riffs; after a couple of sessions a buzz developed in the low frequency range, even though the headphones had never been used with anything but a laptop computer. If you're looking for something that will blank ambient noise well and you're not too picky about sound quality, these are probably worth the $$s. If sound quality is a major concern, you'll be unhappy with this product. |
