Summary: Decent Sound Quality, Terrible Fit 2010-08-30
Comment: As far as sound quality goes, these earphones aren't bad at all. The bass is pretty solid and seems very slightly stronger than my Sennheiser CX-300s I previously owned. The the mids are well defined and don't sound too muddy when it comes to vocals and the highs aren't at all tinny. Though overall, it's nothing amazing if you've owned a decent pair of earphones before.
What I really don't like is the fit of the MetroFi 170s. They come with three different sizes of silicon ear cushions, but the smallest one is still too big for my ears. As a point of reference, the CX-300's smallest cushions fit perfectly in my ears; they were by no means snug or too loose, but they fit comfortable inside my ears as they should, and I easily wore them all day at work. These on the other hand struggle to stay in my ears even when I'm sitting. There's a slight (but tolerable) discomfort when I try to push them into my ear. They stay for a while, but slowly start to fall out, and then a minute or two later, I find myself having to push them back in. The thing that really annoys me is that the size difference in the ear cushions between small and medium are damn near negligible. What's the point of even making these two different sizes if the sizes aren't going to make a difference?
I really wanted to like these and I realize that this might just be me and my small ears, but when the smallest size cushions are almost as big as the medium cushions, it's like they're not even trying. If you tend to use medium to large cushions on other in-ear headphones, then these might be worth it. Otherwise, us small eared folk may want to just stay away from these and opt for something more form fitting.

Summary: Not happy with these earphones 2010-08-23
Comment: I was disappointed with these earphones. I have purchased much cheaper earphones that have better sound. The bass reproduction was poor. The wires are very stiff and when they rub against something they produce an annoying noise through the earphones.

Summary: one word... amazing! 2010-06-02
Comment: I bought this earphones couple weeks ago and now I have enough experience with it to write a review about it.
First of all, it looks really elegant. The design is so nice that you just want to have it in your hands and look at it:) But for sure, design is not the first thing you would expect from an earphone right? Then keep reading.
The second thing I will mention is the sound quality. The sound you get from the earphone is really loud. Plus it is really crystal clear and I am pretty satisfied by the sound quality it provides. I think, the basses and the trebles are quite balanced. I didn't get more bass than treble nor the opposite. To compare, I can easily say that this earphone's sound quality is much better than the sennheiser cx500 I have.
Furthermore, the ear buds totally fit my ear canal. Before I bought the item, I read a couple negative comments about this ear buds, saying that they are too big and uncomfortable. But I have been using it for weeks and I am really happy with the comfort of the buds. It totally fills your ear canal, and -this part is important- provides an amazing sound isolation. You just can not hear whats going on around you, even if you don't play music but just have the earphone in your ears, you can't hear the noise of the subway. And with the music playing, it is like you are in the space, listening to music. So to sum, ear buds fit perfectly to the ear canal and provides amazing sound isolation.
One last thing which I'll mention is, the quality of the cable. Again, before I bought the item I read a couple negative comments about the cable, saying that it is too solid and hard and it feels low quality. But what I saw is, the cable's quality is really high. Yes it is not soft like the other earphones' cables, it is pretty hard. But it just feels it is stronger, and it will last more.
Beside all these stuff, I have only one negative comment about the product, which is about the carrying case. I think it could be much better than a plastic box which you just try to fit your earphones in. Also the cap of the box seems like it will be broken soon. It is sticked to the box and totally it has a short life before it gets broken.

Summary: Not Bad At All 2010-05-06
Comment: Overall, the earphones were pretty good in terms of sound quality: The sound was clear and covered all the pitch ranges, from low, to medium to high. Nevertheless, if you are a fan of bass sound, then you should look somewhere else. The UEs have good bass but they don't have that extra "oomph" that you're looking for. About comfort, the earbuds were a little too big. It's not that big of a deal but when you compare them to Sennheiser CX-400ii, you do see a difference. However, if your budget is limited, I recommend those earphones.
