Reviews of the V-moda Remix 4S are very schizophrenic. Half of the negative reviews complain about too much bass response, yet the most disappointed reviewers tend to complain about too little bass response. I think I now understand the reason for these radically different opinions.

I am one of the many who recently picked these up due to the current Costco sale. My initial reaction agreed with the "too little bass" camp. The sound was very thin and tinny. Some reviewers mentioned that these ear buds might need to be broken in, so I left them playing loud music overnight for a couple of nights in a row. No improvement.

Then I decided to revisit my choice of silicone tips. I had initially tried each, and settled upon the smallest ones since they seemed to be the easiest to insert yet stay in my ears. I subsequently learned, however, that this is the wrong approach to sizing. You should select the largest tips that can fit in your ears. They should create...Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars poor sound quality that gets worse over time, April 4, 2012

In a nutshell: Sound is uneven between speakers, very low, and inconsistent. They also don't stay well in your ear while running. Don't buy these.

Pros:
- stylish
- play/pause button is nice instead of fiddling with your music player

Cons:
- THE SOUND! My iPod's volume is cranked up to the max but the volume in one speaker is low while the other is barely audible. Yes, I tested my own hearing and my iPod with other headphones. These headphones are definitely poor quality that get worse with time. The volume also varies in various shades of "low to barely audible" from day to day.
- "V-MODA's patented ACTIVE FLEXTMsport ear hooks" are cheap peaces of rubber that fall off your ears easily, especially if you turn your head.
- The earbuds themselves don't stay well in your ear either. I've spent a large portion of my runs distracted while pushing the earbuds back into my ears. If you start to sweat, the problem is magnified as the...Read more

First of all the item that I got was the wrong color, but that's due to the seller. The sound quality seems good, but the BLISS 2.0 fitting are horrible. I have tried the medium and the small sizes and neither fit. The extra small size would simply slide out of my ear... I have owned another pair of their headphones, V-Moda Vibe ii, which are an older model and don't have a vast frequency response (only 12Hz-22kHz) compared to (5Hz-22kHz). This frequency response should make the bass sounds more clear and crisp, but this is not the case, and yes I also know the human ear can't hear frequencies below ~15Hz. I had to switch the BLISS 2.0 for 1.0 from my old headphones for the new ones to actually fit and create a nice seal. Overall V-Moda has made their fitting even more worse and have not improved the sound quality, at least not to a point that can be significant for the price they advertise, and re-marketed the same sound so they can charge more. No wonder Costco had these on sale for...Read more
