Got my XX headphones for graduation a few weeks ago and love them. These are great headphones if you listen to tracks with LOTS of BASS! I mostly listen to hip hop and these can handle anything I throw at them. I'm listening to some Black Eyed Peas right now and still can't believe how loud I can go without any distorion. The 50mm drivers definitely KICK! I don't even touch my IEM's anymore and now my buddy is all over them too.
They are built tough and look it. Camo on the headband and a cool rivet design on the cans. The ear cushions have memory foam and block out everything. Definitely the best headphones for deep bass at this price..

I own a recording studio, and I have dealt with every kind of headphone on the planet it seems. I got these for free from a friend, and they really sound pretty good. I noticed that when I cupped my hands over the bass ports, the sound became a lot more full... So I grabbed my trusty roll of gaff tape, and taped over the bottom half of the outside of the ear cup.. They sound a MILLION times better now.. I'd recommend doing the same thing if you own a pair... They are WELL worth the money, and easily repaired should you accidently sit or step on them...

This is a bass headphone, but there is not much extension into really deep bass frequencies. My Pioneer HDJ-1000 hits much deeper notes. The JVCs trim the treble and upper midrange and accentuate the low midrange and upper bass. After testing out different genres, I found old '80s rap and and late '90s dream trance to be most enjoyable with these headphones. For grunge, metal, hardcore breaks, jazz, classical, and blues, the Pioneers are just amazing. The JVCs are much less expensive, but I think they are worth a little less than I paid. I got mine for $50, but it looks like they are available for <$40 on Amazon, which is not bad for these. Oh yeah, HA M5X seems to be designed as a competitor for Skull Candy and intended for use with iPods. The semi-open design of the JVCs makes it tough to listen to them outside; they are already very heavy in the low midrange, but outside noise is channeled through the ports and comes in as a strong, constant ~400Hz whooshing sound...Read more
